For right now I'm going to focus just on the Columbia County teams, because...well, I've got to do a write up for ccSCOOP anyway. The non Columbia County teams will still be mentioned in the write ups along with any other important information.
Taconic Hills
After a 1-1 first half on Wednesday against Cairo the two teams exploded for a combined five goals in the second half, three of which came by the Titans as they pulled out a 4-3 victory. Hara Aoki-Saffer, a player we had discussed as being the most important piece for the Titans scored all four goals in the victory. Emma Gryner another player we keyed in on for the Titans picked up two assists. Janine Hamm continued her strong play in goal making 4 saves in the win.
The Titans earned their second win of the week on Friday as they defeated winless Catskill 2-0. Jamie Albrecht and Hara Aoki-Saffer each scored a goal assisted by Emma Gryner in the second half to help the Titans earn the win.
Hudson
The Bluehawks week got off to a rough start as they had to face off with powerhouse Greenville and fell 7-1. Hudson's lone goal came in the second half when Hailey Hollenbeck assisted on a Sam Davis goal. Jackie Hall made 8 stops in the loss.
Hudson dropped their final contest of the week on Friday as they fell 2-0 to Chatham. Jackie Hall made four saves in the loss but the Bluehawks inability to score doomed them on Friday.
New Lebanon
The Tigers had two games in two days, starting off against Loudonville Christian on Tuesday. The Tigers scored a pair of first half goals for a 2-1 lead heading into halftime before falling 3-2. Geneva Furlano and Hanna Springer each scored a goal in the loss.
On Wednesday the Tigers shutout Doane Stuart, earning a 4-0 victory. Furlano added 2 more goals to her weekly title while Springer scored one more and Juanita Eaton added one.
New Lebanon closed out their week with a game against Rensselaer at home on Friday and earned a hard fought 4-2 win. Furlano continued her torrid scoring pace as she scored 2 more goals, and Springer also added two to bring her weekly total to four.
Ichabod Crane
The Riders had just one game this week, Monday, when they faced off against first place Maple Hill and earned a come from behind 3-1 victory. Check the site for our combined full recap of both the ICC-MH boy's and girl's game for our Game of the Week.
Chatham
The Panthers only had a single game this week as they defeated Hudson 2-0 on Friday. Chatham scored a goal in each half to earn the win. Taylor Wenk scored a goal and added an assist on a Cailey Nieto goal. Brittany Lossow was forced to make 12 saves in the win.
