1 game down,1 to go for most Girl's teams

On Thursday the Patroon Conference featured a slate of four games with major league and sectional seeding implications. Ichabod Crane held onto the slimmest of leads over Maple Hill with any loss knocking the Riders out of first. Greenville, Coxsackie Athens and Chatham are all in solid position as the season winds down and the teams are playing for seeding purposes. Chatham had a great chance to make a statement against Maple Hill on Thursday while Greenville can take a major step forward Monday with a victory over ICC. C-A had the chance to make the biggest statement as they played Greenville Thursday and Chatham on Monday.

Catskill v. Ichabod Crane

The Riders remained alone in first place after a convincing 7-0 win over winless Catskill. ICC scored only two goals in the first half but exploded for five in the second to secure the win and improve to 13-1-1 with one game remaining, Monday against Greenville. The Cats ended their season without a win in conference.

A foursome of Riders finished with a goal and an assist, Mariela Jacome, Jessica Mink, Haley Ooms and Lacey Powers. Alex Armstrong, Cassidy Lester and Morgan Van Alstyne each scored a goal in the win.

Alicia Mink made 3 stops in goal for ICC while Meghan Baxter came up with 27 stops in the loss.

Chatham v. Maple Hill

In order to keep their hopes of at least a share of the league title alive the Wildcats would need to earn a win against a tough Chatham squad on Thursday in Castleton. The homestanding Wildcats did just that with a hard fought 1-0 victory.

Sierra Legge scored the game's lone goal off a Meeghan Arno assist in the first half and that was all it would take to earn the win.

Maple Hill improves to 12-1-2 and will head to Taconic Hills on Monday to close our their regular season while Chatham, 9-6, finishes up Monday at Coxsackie Athens.

Coxsackie Athens v. Greenville

Although Greenville can no longer win the Patroon Conference title the Spartans had two key late season contest on the schedule, first against fellow Class B C-A which could be big for sectional seeding purposes and then Monday against first place ICC.

On Thursday the Spartans took their first step with an impressive 6-2 victory over the Indians, a team who had defeated them 6-4 earlier this year. The Spartans outscored C-A 3-2 in a high scoring first half before adding three second half goals to secure the win.

Alex Van Auken and Taylor Anne Young each netted a hat trick in the win while Michelle Schoenborn added two assists. Bonnie Harvey made six saves in goal for the win.

For Coxsackie Brianna Blunck and Dannielle Chiudina each scored while Kelsey West added an assist. Jenna Morse made nine saves in the loss.

The Indians finish up their season Monday when they host Chatham.

Taconic Hills v. Hudson

Kylle Proper opened the scoring for the Titans in the first half as they jumped on top of Columbia County rival Hudson in a battle for bragging rights on Thursday. Hailey Hollenbeck scored for Hudson to even the score in the second half but the Bluehawks could not hold on as Jamie Albrecht netted the game winner with 13 minutes left in the contest.

Sarah Baron and Genevieve Bergeron each added an assist for the Titans in victory. Janine Hamm made 8 saves to earn the win while Jackie Hall made 13 saves in the loss.

Both teams will finish up their seasons on Monday as the Titans host Maple Hill while Hudson will head to Cairo Durham.
