Tuesday Update

Some important scores and notices from Tuesday around the area including the Ichabod Crane Girl's Tennis team capturing the Section II Class B tennis title over defending champs Cobleskill 6-1. On top of the team win, Emily Qua, the Riders top seed will head into the Section II singles tournament as the #8 seed.

On the field hockey front Taconic Hills topped Albany Academy 6-0 to improve to 9-0 on the year and clinched the Patroon Conference league title, after finishing in a three way tie for the crown last year with ICC and Germantown.

Although they are not in the Patroon Conference, New Lebanon is a Columbia County team and they fell to 3-7-1 overall after a 3-2 loss to Loudonville Christian in Girl's Soccer. Geneva Furlano had a goal and an assist in the loss while Hannah Springer added a goal.

Same situation for Germantown on the boy's side as they dropped to 2-7-1 after a lopsided 5-0 loss to Berlin.

BOYS SOCCER

Greenville v. Hudson

The Bluehawks remained winless after a 2-0 loss on Tuesday at home against the Spartans. George Harvey and Mike Sanchez who have led the way for Greenville all season long each picked up a goal in the win.

Hudson has three more cracks at earning a win this year, with the next one being a home stand against Chatham on Thursday. Greenville will host Cairo on Thursday as well.

Coxsackie Athens v. Catskill

The Cats hosted the Indians and pulled off a minor upset as they won 3-2 in overtime. Matel Anasta the Cats big time goal scorer netted 2 in the win while Shawn Daly scored the third. Felipe Plotz scored both goals for the Indians.

Catskill will head to Taconic Hills Thursday night under the lights while the Indians host Maple Hill Thursday afternoon.

Taconic Hills v. Cairo Durham

The Mustangs roughed up the Titans on Tuesday posting a 7-0 victory. After a hard fought first half which saw the Titans go to the half only down one, C-D poured it on for six second half goals. Zach McGrath led the charge with a pair of goals for Cairo.

Cairo gets back to get action when they head to Greenville on Thursday while the Titans will host Catskill.
