Finally got ahold of the results thanks to someone from C-D and some stats thanks to the Register Star. Cairo beat Chatham 3-1 which is a very impressive win for the Mustangs.
Will Gauthier got Chatham on the board first off a breakaway. Gauthier excelled at scoring off the break at the modified level but didn't play soccer last year, his return to the pitch should give the Panthers a much needed boost up front.
C-D evened the game and took the lead thanks to two very key players returning from last year, Stephen Zwoboda and Peter Zoellner. Chris Gagliardi added the third.
This early win positions the Mustangs well at the top of the pack along with ICC and Maple Hill. The setback is a tough one for for Chatham but I'd expect them to bounce back and get stronger and more dangerous as the season goes on.
