With just two teams remaining in their quests for Section II glory both New Lebanon and Chatham advanced to their respective classes Final Four, but just one would move into the finals.
FINAL FOUR
New Lebanon v. Whitehall
The Tigers run deep into the Class D playoffs ended at the hands of Whitehall 1-0. The two teams battled evenly through two full quarters before Whitehall struck just before the end of the first of two overtimes.
New Lebanon outshot their opponents and put 11 shots on goal but could not put any into the back of the net. Brittany St. Clair fired a ball to the far post past Tiger's goalie Jill Risko for the game's only goal. Risko made six saves in the loss as the Tigers season came to a close.
Chatham v. Galway
Fresh off their upset of top seeded Hoosick Falls the Panthers continued their run and moved themselves into the Class CC finals with a convincing 2-0 victory over Galway. The Panthers got a goal in each half as the defense held strong for the win.
Fourteen minutes into the contest Cailey Nieto got her team on the board with an unassisted goal. Then with 19 minutes left in the contest the Panthers put the contest away with a goal by Regina Behn off an Alyssa Keeler assist.
Chatham fired off 16 shots compared to Galway's 12 while Brittany Lossow made 6 stops earning the win.
CLASS CC FINALS
Chatham v. Cambridge
The Panthers magical run came to a close in the Class CC finals as they fell to the Indians 2-0. Cambridge scored a goal late in each half to earn the victory.
With under a minute left in the first and the game knotted at 0-0 the Indians got a goal by Cheyanne Hall. That goal would hold up until there was nine minutes left in the contest when Cambridge iced the game on a goal by Molly Lauver.
Chatham fired off five shots and two corners in the contest while Brittany Lossow made 8 stops in defeat.
